Although Ali is only carrying up to ABC for us, he has had previous experience as a high-altitude porter, working for a Japanese expedition to GI and GII (both 8000-meter peaks) in 1997. He will join a Pakistani mountaineering trip this winter to a 7000-meter peak, and has ambitions of becoming a professional climber.
