Hello Mountain Zone, this is Ellie Henke from Alpine Ascents International Base Camp on Mount Everest, bringing you the end of a very, very long day; some of us have been going ever since about the middle of the day yesterday. We just got the call from Camp IV up at the South Col that everybody has now returned to the South Col: all the Sherpas, Vern, Willi and Al are now at the South Col and I'm sure they're climbing into their sleeping bags for a good, long sleep. They've been going for a long time and, boy, I'm going to join them. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to patch through and get a report directly from the climbers up at the South Col or by the time they've gone down to Camp I. So stay tuned tomorrow and we'll bring you more personal information from the climbers and their stories of what they went thrpugh up on the mountain. So stay tuned tomorrow and we'll bring you another report. Ellie Henke, Alpine Ascents and MountainZone.com Correspondent |
