Favorite place to ride:
At home in Canada is always my favorite.
Style of riding:
Nothing beats a steep powder run. You can vary your riding style with the weather.
From carving on the groomed runs, to jumping off the little skier-made formations,
and also wiggling in the powder when it dumps. I like racing, halfpipe, and boardercross
(although I'm waiting for someone to get decapitated).
What was your first day of riding like and who was there:
I started snowboarding five years ago while I was still ski racing. A friend pushed
me into trying it. I was very reluctant at first, like most skiers, but once I started,
I couldn't stop. I remember making one fast, perfect carve that turned into a series
of cartwheels.
What other sports/athletes do you admire/respect:
One day while bodyboarding, I caught a wave too big for me, and then tumbled onto
dry reef. I got scraped and cut, and then had to deal with more waves crashing on
my head. I thought that I might drown. The next time I watched surfers I had a whole
new respect for them.
