Kaltschütz and Parini Defend Titles
Last year's Giant Slalom World Cup champions, Austrian Stefan Kaltschütz and Italian Margerita Parini, both successfully defended their giant slalom titles this year, despite disappointing finishes in Saturday's race.

Parallel Slalom Final: Frenchies All Over It
The parallel slalom Final went to France's Matthieu Bozzetto and Karine Ruby, and the Overall slalom standings are all about the French team, as well. Isabelle Blanc, after finishing 3rd in today's race, claimed the women's Overall title, while Bozzetto took the men's.

Stahlkloo, Riegler Sisters Win SBX
Sweden's Pontus Stahlkloo and Aussie Zeke Steggall battled it out for 1st and 2nd in the snowboard cross, while there was a family feud going on in the women's race. Claudia Riegler won, and her sister Manuela took 2nd.

Krassnig, Parini Take Park City GS
The weather in Park City, Utah, turned foul before the World Cup GS race. But Austrian Dieter Krassnig fought hard and claimed his first win to two years. In the women's race, Italian Margerita Parini took the top spot.

Byrnes Wins Pipe
Tricia Byrnes picked up her fourth World Cup win of the season at the Nagano halfpipe, while Swedish teammates Thomas Johannson and Fredrick Sterner fought hard for the men's top spot. After a crash, Sterner left it wide open for Johannson to take his third win this season.

Finally, Ruby's Day
It's been a tough season for French rider and one-time tour dominator Karine Ruby. But she struck her first win today, taking top spot in the Makomanai snowboard cross. Pontus Stahlkloo won in the men's division, scoring the third Swedish gold of the weekend, while Swiss rider Guillaume Nantermod took the number two spot.

Zeke Streaks to 2nd Victory
Aussie Zeke Staggall took his second big win in less than a month today at Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, site of this year's World Championships. And Sandra Farmand from Germany took the gold in the women's race, her first-ever in Snowboard Cross.

NOKIA World Team Dominates SBX
Swiss rider Guillaume Nantermod and Austrian powerhouse Ursula Fingerlos scored another double victory for the NOKIA World team today, under sunny skies on the challenging Ischgl snowboard cross course.

Czeschin and Byrnes Take Gold
Heavy snows kept athletes waiting today, as organizers scrambled to upkeep the halfpipe. Late in the day the event finally started, forcing a second floodlight competition in Tandadalen.

Five Medals for Sweden
The Swedes made the season's fifth halfpipe their own today. Fredrik Sterner won it, with Magnus Sterner and Thomas Johansson in 2nd and 3rd after an exciting final round. The women rounded out the overall victory, with the two Annas, Hellman and Olofsson, in 1st and 2nd.

Brutally Narrow SBX Course
Aussie Zeke Steggall took the snowboard cross gold today in Schönried, Switzerland, on a brutally narrow course only wide enough to pass at the start. Italy's Carmen Ranigler took the women's in a surprise win after climbing up the ranks for the past two weeks.

Frenchies Take Parallel Slalom
Americans took Friday's parallel giant slalom, but Sunday's parallel slalom was an almost completely French win. This race puts Bozzetto in the PS standings lead but, between the blue and red lanes, he barely held on to this win.

Vipérine for the French
Preserved reptiles were among the guests in Les Gets, France, as homeboy Sylvain Duclos snaked a SBX win and his countrymen ruled the parallel slalom.

Scandinavians Dominate Pipe
Swedes Anna Hellman and Thomas Johansson took the top spots in the halfpipe on a clear, cool day in Mont Sainte Anne, and 11-year-old Traves Lynne threw down some tunes.

Wicked Weather at Whistler World Cup
The snow is still falling, but the results are in. Bozzettto and Windahl won GS, Ricker and Duclos took snowboard cross and in the pipe, it was Jonsson and Ricker, once again.

Euros Take Parallel Giant Slalom in Kaprun
Finland's Joni Vastamäki and French rider Marie Laissus took boardercross while Italy's Margerita Parini and French underdog Charlie Cosnier took the PGS.

France Dominates First Parallel GS
In the first parallel giant slalom of the season, France's Isabelle Blanc finished first over two Americans while her countryman Nicolas Huet stole it from the Swedes.

US Riders Take Halfpipe at Tignes
Proving he's got the juice to keep his World Cup title, Stefan Kaltschuetz (AUT) won the giant slalom while Italy's Margerita Parini took the women's title. But the halfpipe went to Americans Tricia Byrnes and Rob Kingwill.

World Cup Preview
The 1999-2000 World Cup tour will be the most extensive one yet, with 17 stops and 84 races. Snowboard Cross will certainly be the event of the season, with 11 scheduled races — that's almost three times as many as last season. It looks like France might dominate alpine.
