Wally Berg, Guide
Acclaimed mountaineer, outdoor educator and consummate professional, Berg may be the best all-around guide in the business. The combination of his personal climbing achievements and ability to guide others has brought him unconditional praise and respect throughout the guiding world.

Alpine Ascents International Guide Berg has stood on the top of Mount Everest four times and most recently was the leader of the highly successful '98 GPS Expedition. He is one of the most active 8,000-meter peak climbers and was the first American to summit Lhotse.

Berg's guiding highlights include three expeditions to Antarctica's Vinson (100% success), Carstensz Pyramid, Mera Peak, Elbrus and Kilimanjaro, including eight successful trips in the past two years. He is one of the few climbers who has guided multiple expeditions to each of the Seven Summits.

Over the past few years, Berg has become a bit of a legend guiding Kilimanjaro. He likely holds the highest success rate on "Kili" and is considered one of the most respected guides in the region. An educator as much as a mountaineer, Berg is able to impart in his trips a unique blend of his mountain guiding skills and cultural sensibilities.

In January of this year, Berg and Bob Elias journeyed into the largely unexplored Embree Glacier region of Antarctica and made the second ascent of Mount Bentley. Upon his return from the Antarctic, he completed his Seven Summits bid, climbing the highest peak on each of the seven continents, after a successful ascent of Aconcagua in February.
