Hey this is Ed Viesturs reporting for the Mountain Zone, it's evening of April 8th, Veikka and I right now are sitting in our tent at Camp I at 17,300 feet. We're kinda in the middle of a thunder, graupel, hailstorm. It's very typical of this part of Nepal in the afternoon that these clouds build up, so it's been snowing and graupelling for the last three or four hours. We're quite safe where we are, we picked a really good camp.

We came up here early this morning, we got here at about 7:30 in the morning, a quick two and a half hour trip from Base Camp, and we've been [satellite transmission fails] tomorrow. We may just have to hang out and watch the snow consolidate [satellite transmission fails]. We may be able to take a short trip up a little bit higher but we're not going to do anything major tomorrow. Again it's to acclimatize, scout the route and see what's going on [satellite transmission fails] plenty of food up here, plenty of fuel, so that's it for now, we'll check in again tomorrow. Thanks for staying and watching, thanks for reading on the Mountain Zone. See ya later.
