Well one good advantage of a small expedition is that you can move pretty quick when you need to, and I think that our Tibetan liaison officer, having been at Base Camp for 30 days, he figured that was well and truly enough. He had the yaks galloping up as far as Camp I to pick up our things. We made it down to Tingre and got into Kathmandu for a bit of a delayed Christmas. It was Saturday, which was a holiday here, so things were a bit quiet anyway, other than that there were a few Christmas tree lights and that's about it. Although, I did find a bit of a turkey dinner. It's disappointing being back in Kathmandu, looking out and it's warm again, and the oxygen tends to make you think back, but at the same time Lhakpa hasn't ah..., he's improved quite a bit just getting down lower altitude, but he still isn't his himself. I don't think he would have been in any shape at all to go for the summit. So, the end decision, while it is very disappointing, there isn't a whole lot else that we could do. We're going to try to book flights out of here, of course the airport's gotten a bit more hectic since the flight was hijacked out of Kathmandu and is now sitting somewhere in Afghanistan. I'm just very glad I wasn't headed south on that one. That would have been much worse than any other alternative. So, the next couple of days I'll just be basically hitch hiking from airport to airport. I'm trying to get back to New York for the New Year's Eve party, probably at about 30 to 40 feet above sea level, as opposed to 29,000 feet I had hoped to. So, I just wanted to say thanks for everybody who was interested in the journey and the trip. I'll have a few more thoughts when I get back into the states, and have a bit more air inside of me. So, I'll give you a final update then. Thanks for interest, and we'll talk to you closer to New Year's.
