Noel is an ultrarunner who finished the 1999 Badwater race and the 1999 Marathon des Sables. He came in 19th place in the Los Angeles Crest 100 miles race in 1998. He also won the Himalayan 100 miles stage race in 1997 in 15 hours 54 minutes. He has taken part in numerous mountaineering events in Ireland and Scotland. Ursula is an experienced rock climber and mountaineer having climbed the in the US, Scotland, Ireland and the Himalayas (Nepal, India, Pakistan) reaching peaks of over 20,000ft. She also is an experienced sea kayaker (she is the first woman to cross the Irish Sea Dublin to Holyhead) and has made numerous circumnavigation trips in Scotland, Ireland and Britain. She has competed in multisport competitions, marathons and is a member of the Irish Orienteering Team. Ursula is a member of the Irish Surf Ski Team and has won the Irish Championships and placed 5th at the Hawaii World Championships. She has also made whitewater kayaking descents to Class V and was a member of the Irish Himalayan Kayak Expedition in 1986. Last but not least, Ursula holds a commercial pilot's license.
