Richard has six years of rafting and kayaking experience along the Apurimac Canyon in Peru and the Itajai River and Benedicto Novo of Brazil. He has made descents of the Upper Canete of Peru, the Canoas, the Upper Ribeirao, the Lava Tudo and Pelotas of Brazil. Richard also enjoys Tai Chi, surfing, and paragliding. He is the Brazilian representative for the 1999 Latin American Rafting Championships.
